Trevor and Nellie and their three young children farm at Dimbulah on the Atherton Tablelands, west of Cairns Qld. They grow limes, lemons, papaya (red), paw paw (yellow & green), grape tomatoes and cherry tomatoes.
They have also recently planted several varieties of native Australian “bush tucker” foods such as saltbush, lemon aspen, Davidson plum, lemon and aniseed myrtle, muntries, Atherton raspberries, Quondong and karkalla.
Trevor and Nellie have placed a strong focus on improving and taking care of the soils on their farm, using regenerative agriculture practices such as compost, organic matter, worm and fish solutions, and rotational cropping. They also minimise sprays by using an integrated pest management system.
